How Often Should Your Vehicle be Serviced?
Let’s say you aren’t experiencing any major vehicular issues and you want to keep it that way. One of the best things you can do for the health and longevity of your car is to get it on a general service schedule. No clue where to start? We’ve outlined one below, and the great news is that most of the items listed can be done at little to no cost:
To Check Frequently:
To Check Every 3-5k Miles:
Come in at least one a year for a thorough maintenance inspection and we will prepare a custom plan of report, with priorities, for you.
The Car Care Council found in a recent survey that many drivers don’t keep up with routine maintenance and they unfortunately pay for it. Here’s how:
22% of cars reported low or dirty engine oil
20% had low or contaminated brake fluid
17% had dirty air filters
16% had inadequate cooling protection or low coolant levels
15% had inadequate or contaminated power steering fluid
12% needed new belts
While it may seem overwhelming having to keep track of monitoring all of these things routinely, it can be as simple as keeping a car maintenance calendar and remembering that in the long run, it is well worth it to keep your car running well – while it is well.
